Scholar Spotlight: Eric Ong

Meet 🤝 Eric Ong, PracticePro Diversity Scholar – UC Hastings College of the Law, Class of 2023.

Question: What inspired you to pursue a legal career?

Eric: Prior to entering law school, I was a biochemist at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, and enjoyed working behind the lab bench in developing life changing medicines for patients. I am inspired to continue to drive innovation forward in the life sciences industry through intellectual property.

Question: Where will you be working this summer?

Eric: This summer, I’m excited to join Haynes and Boone, LLP as a summer associate.

Question: What's your favorite quote and why?

Eric: "Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts." This Winston Churchill quote reminds me to always look forward and plan for what's ahead. It is also important to learn and grow from both our successes and failures.
