Scholar Spotlight: Edison Wong
Meet 🤝 Edison Wong, PracticePro Diversity Scholar – Boston University School of Law, Class of 2023.
Question: Where are you working this summer?
Edison: I am working as a law clerk at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. Specifically, I am in the API outreach group where I assist Cantonese clients and other API members who face legal difficulties such as landlord harassment, DVRO, government benefits, homelessness, and immigration.
Question: Do you have any prior work experience?
Edison: Before law school, I worked in Information Technology Services for four years. I enjoyed helping people solve their daily concerns, and I no longer have to rely just on Google for my own technological disasters!
Question: What inspired you to pursue a legal career?
Edison: As a first-generation college graduate and immigrant, I often see my family and many people in my community ignored and go unheard. I hope to take my legal experiences to provide an avenue and become an advocate for those in need.
Question: What do you do for fun?
Edison: I really like dancing! It's a great way to connect with and learn from others. I have met some of my best friends through dance. If you search hard enough, you can find my dance covers on YouTube.
Question: What’s next on your bucket list?
Edison: Definitely seeing Mount Fuji! I studied abroad in Japan during my junior year of college but never got to see this beauty.
