Drinking Enough Water Can Make a Difference in Your Day

We all know that we need to stay hydrated throughout the day, but what exactly does staying hydrated mean? Research shows that you should drink at least eight glasses of water each day to maintain good help. However, with our busy schedules, we may be left thinking: who has the time for that? Unfortunately, it’s exactly that type of thinking that leaves us feeling fatigued, stressed, and unhealthy.

Drinking the right amount of water every day can help relieve fatigue, improve digestion and flush out unnecessary toxins. Remaining hydrated might not always be on the top of our to-do list, but PracticePro is here to help with the following tips:

1. Make sure to hydrate the night before you plan a morning workout

Stay one step ahead of dehydration! Drinking water the night before a workout ensures that you start your day off hydrated. Mornings are truly hectic for everyone, so prepping the night before by drinking water can help you have a more productive morning and a stronger workout.

Have you ever felt lightheaded during a workout or during a busy day? That might mean that you’re not drinking enough water and can ultimately be dangerous to your health. Make sure to get your H20 in during relaxing evenings to ensure that you feel better in the morning!

2. Always keep a water bottle on hand

Carrying a water bottle with you throughout your day may seem frustrating, but I’ll be a powerful reminder to stay hydrated. If your water bottle is in plain sight, you’re more likely to take sips from it throughout the day. Most water bottles now come with discernible lines that instruct you how much more you need to drink in order to get your daily fill of H20!

3. Remember that certain foods can help hydrate you

While we don’t normally think of foods as having a hydrating effect, cucumber, lettuce, celery, radishes, watermelon, peppers, and spinach are all packed with water. In fact, these vegetables are at least 85-90% water! While this won’t be enough to keep you fully hydrated, it’ll go a long way in replenishing your H20 if you didn’t drink your full 8 glasses for the day.

4. Limit caffeinated, sugary, or alcoholic drinks

This is definitely hard to achieve, as lawyers and law students we practically thrive on coffee. However, limiting dehydrating drinks like coffee and alcohol can help our bodies remain hydrated. If you find that limiting your caffeine intake is particularly difficult, try switching to caffeinated teas first. Tea allows you to still ingest water while still enjoying different flavors.
