Behind the Scenes with Some Amazing Lawyers:

Today's story is inspired by the wonderful lawyers at Haynes and Boone, LLP. Haynes and Boone is one of PracticePro's Diversity Founders, so we wanted to bring you two amazing stories from the firm. Here is a behind the scenes look at what these lawyers do in their free time:

David Staab's Racing Hobby is a Family Affair:

David Staab is a fifth-year associate in the Restructuring Practice Group at Haynes and Boone, but he's also an amateur racer. Staab had his first track experience before starting law school at Vanderbilt University, and he hasn't looked back since.

After working on his racing skills he noticed that his lap times were becoming competitive, so he took the plunge and began racing competitively this past year.

David Staab's family members have since taken to the track for some friendly competition. They frequent the track one or two weekends per month, and they even make it a tradition to spend holidays together on the track.

This is an important lesson for us all, remember to explore your interests and hobbies, and do so with the ones closest to you, especially during this holiday season!

Jamie McDole Raises his Service Pup to Help People with Disabilities:

Jamie McDole is a partner at Haynes and Boone, and he has always loved raising dogs. McDole is a volunteer puppy raiser for Canine Companions for Independence. The organization provides assistance dogs to people with disabilities, at no cost to the recipients.

After being accepted into the program, McDole welcomed a lab named Nyoko into his home. In order to teach Nyoko obedience and socialization training, McDole committed to taking the 9-month-old puppy pretty much anywhere he goes. This includes the Haynes and Boone office on Fridays. All of Nyoko's training is leading up to a graduation ceremony where the McDole family will walk across the stage and hand off Nyoko's leash.

While McDole spends the most time training Nyoko, it's definitely a family effort! The McDole family has always loved dogs and loves training dogs like Nyoko, who will go on to change someone's life after they graduate from training.

Lawyers have the ability to do so much good in the world, and we hope you keep this in mind as you develop your legal career.
